The Experiment is more like a caramel without the roastiness/nuttiness, and instead offers aromas of plum, toffee, caramelized sugar and chocolate, While similar in color, it is not the same product as our caramel 90 roast, as this product was kilned at high temperatures, not roasted, allowing for the development of dark color without the roast-like characteristics. We would recommend using this in 5-10% for lighter beers (ambers, reds, IPA's) and up to 20% in darker beers such as porters and stouts. Since it does not have the roasted characteristics it can be used in higher quantities without overpowering the final flavor.

    Griffin Malt

Was as happy as a pig in Poo when I opened the Malt page and saw Two Bays had restocked the pantry and thrown some new gear in! I used the Griffin Malt as 10% of my dry stout grain bill, along with a few extra handfuls of the Caramels. Lovely stuff, cheers Richard and crew!
